Major conference planned on the major issues in Medical Negligence Litigation in Ireland
At a very important time in medical negligence law in Ireland, the patient safety and justice charity Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA) are running a major one day conference in Dublin on Thursday 17 May 2012. The conference - ‘Medical Negligence Litigation in Ireland – the current state of play’ – which is being run in association with the Medical Injuries Alliance, will cover the major issues currently affecting medical negligence litigation, including:
- Product Liability claims, including the PIP and DePuy cases
- The remit of the Personal Injuries Assessment Board being extended to include medical negligence claims
- The Statute of Limitations in Medical Negligence Claims
- The introduction of Periodic Payment Orders in Ireland and Experiences of PPOs in the UK
- The increase in the role of Alternative Dispute Resolution in Medical Negligence Cases
- Costs and the right of access to the courts
